We thank you in anticipation of your generosity.
The Lichfield Branch Staffordshire Regiment Association are partaking in a number of challenging events this year our aim is to show support, raise awareness and give financial aid to our chosen charity Combat Stress. A small percentage of the money we raise from our events will be redirected back into our branch funds this will enable us to continue our charity fund raising and also aid our branch veterans.
Our first challenge is the Staffordshire way event April 13th, our team will attempt to complete this 93 mile trek over 3 days, to make this task even more tasking each male member will be carrying a 40LB Pack.
A great number of our service personnel the trauma of war doesn't end when they return home, Britain faces a "ticking time bomb" of mental illness and suicide among our young armed forces veterans who return home from hand-to-hand combat. A lack of mental health care for veterans, combined with the stress of combat, will mean many survivors of conflict’s pay a heavy price with psychological problems. Servicemen and women are exposed to stresses that most of us would never be exposed to in our lives. In Afghanistan our troops are exposed to these stresses and traumas quite early in their careers.
